Cedar Hill Christmas Tree Farm on Facebook

May 18, 2012
After 34 years, the summer of 2011 was our last year of strawberries, raspberries, and sweet corn. Thank you to all of our faithful customers who came to our farm for so many years. We will continue to grow and sell the freshest and most beautiful Christmas trees at our new shop on our farm. Please do drop by to say hello in November and December.

This past December, CTV paid a visit to the farm recently to showcase the different activities at the farm. Here are some videos of what you can expect with your visit!

Tree Cutting with Paul

Wreath Making with Ria

Baking with Hannah

We would like to thank all of our customers for helping us to harvest our crops since 1978. This was our last summer for strawberries, raspberries and sweet corn. During the last two years we have been preparing for a farm transition. As Paul and I reached our mid-sixties, we decided to expand on our Christmas tree business which has grown over the last 15 years. Devon has always enjoyed farming, but has been very interested in becoming a firefighter through his volunteering with the Pakenham station of Mississippi Mills fire department. He started training on September 26. Although it was a difficult decision, it was decided that the fruit aspect of our business would end.

We are going to miss all of our dedicated summer staff – our young people have been excellent and interesting to work with. Seeing so many teenagers who are motivated and dedicated to excellence is very encouraging. We will miss our faithful customers who made each day so rewarding. Hopefully, we will see you at our new Christmas shop. Drop in and say hello and see our new shop…the coffee is always on.

Ria will continue to make delicious jam. If you are a fan of our jam, we always have it available. Jam makes a great hostess gift or gift for your favourite teacher. As Paul says, “One size fits all”. To order, just give us a call at 256-3029. Gift certificates are also great idea. Our neighbour, Shirley Fulton-Deugo at Fultons has developed an amazing line of pure, healthy, Lucious maple spa products…another great gift. We will have some Fultons products in our shop or go to www.fultons.ca

This site was developed by our son John Meloche who is a musician and web developer at Melodic Creative (www.melodiccreative.com). Our daughter Jill Geddes and her business partner Ruth of Trillium Teams have launched a new website for boomers packed with Events, Volunteer opportunities, Work possibilities, People to meet, Coupons and more. The exciting site is now up at www.LinkingBoomers.com
